Chef’s soup of the day

Served with homemade focaccia and butter (V);

Homemade Frickadellen

Delicious large meatballs of minced pork and beef, garlic and parsley, Danube pickled salad, Rye bread;

Prawn cocktail

Atlantic prawns in a classic Marie Rose sauce with segmented orange, spring onion and shredded Cos lettuce Homemade basil crostini;

Warm goat’s cheese

Roast beetroot, cherry tomatoes, mixed leaf salad, honey and apple vinaigrette (V) (GF);

Duck and port reduction pate

Toasted brioche and butter, mixed leaf salad, homemade onion and fig chutney;

Creamy garlic and herb mushrooms

Served on toasted muffin (V).



Chicken or Pork Schnitzel

Tenderised chicken breast or pork cutlet dipped in flour, egg and breadcrumbs, then fried to a golden brown. Served with chips, salad and a lemon wedge;

Chicken Paprikash

The famous Hungarian stew cooked with chicken breast, peppers, sour cream and paprika. Vegetable pilau rice (GF);

Slow roasted pork leg

Confit potatoes and vegetables of the day, white wine and wholegrain mustard sauce (GF);

Vegetarian moussaka

Layers of potatoes, aubergines, tomatoes and courgettes, topped with Béchamel sauce. Served with salad (V)

Danube’s 24hour slow roasted ox cheek

Potato mash, sautéed vegetables, rosemary and red wine jus (GF).


A hearty stew cooked with succulent pieces of beef, onions, paprika, caraway seeds and peppers. Hungarian bread and butter.
